Al Jeryan – Qatar

Solar Bollard Lighting supplied SBL 2 series solar bollard lights to the Al Jeryan Palace, North of Doha. The solar bollards lights were needed to line the streets around the palace compound.

The SBL 2 series model was selected because it met the required 100% renewable energy which was stipulated for the palace lights.

Qatar is one of the hottest countries in the world, with summer daytime temperatures of 40 degrees or more. Under this intense dry heat and constant UV exposure, most plastic or polycarbonate lights would turn yellow and crack. The SBL dome top is made of SABIC Lexan TM which is the highest standard polycarbonate in the world and will not turn yellow and crack after pronged exposure to the suns UV rays.

The SBL 2 series design was thought to be aesthetically sympathetic to the palace design while providing the required light to the avenues in the roads around the palace precinct.

Yas Island – Adu Dhabi

Solar Bollard Lighting was asked to install the SBL2 series solar bollard lights in the Yas Island North Emirati Community project in Abu Dhabi for the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT). The project required 132 SBL2 Series solar bollard lights to be installed on pathways and community places.

Constant and reliable lighting was required for pathways and community spaces, including fully shaded locations. After careful planning, the lighting profile for the project ensured all SBL2 solar bollard lights would illuminate at full power all night every night.
